An action created from the idea of administrative employee Paraskevi Skaripa,
to make the two central corridors of the Alexandroupolis National University more welcoming
The idea
An idea that was created from the need to make the hospital corridors more welcoming and "warm", to take on color and style, to catch the eye of the visitor, the patient, to "travel" them, even if only for a while.
Studies have shown the inextricable link between Art and Health and how even a little color can positively affect psychology. Art has the power to provide a sense of empowerment and calm, to touch the soul and give hope. It has the power to put a smile on our faces and provide emotional relief.
The purpose
But beyond the obvious goal of beautifying our space, we wanted this action to be something more. To be an opportunity to do something together for OUR Hospital! And to prove once again that when there is will and joint effort, only beautiful results emerge.
We do not embellish the problems, nor do we want to hide them behind paintings. We try to inspire another way of approaching reality. A way that brings us closer to "action" and not to "criticism".
47 renowned artists, members of our local community, and the sponsor of the action are becoming the pioneers in this effort and are building "Bridges of Life" to inspire us every day to leave the best imprint we can in our passage through this space, whether we are workers, patients, or visitors.
